In modern times, how ninja introduce himself to stranger

When one writer visited real Ninja house, he observed interesting manner of self introduction. Ninja never say himself is called Ninja instead ninja mentioned that Ninke-no-mono. Ninke is traditional way Ninja family. He said Ninke-no-mono-desu. Namely I belong to Ninja family.
Ninja is getting popular among public after Edo Times were over. If someone easily says I am Ninja, he is never refering to true Ninja. I would like to mention that true story of Ninja is occured in only traditional Ninja family.
